4Kwh of electricity to produce one gallon of gasoline

Depending on the source it takes about 4Kwh of electricity to produce one gallon of gasoline. (also cobalt is used a catalyst in the refining process).

That’s enough electricity to drive around 15 miles in an EV before you even buy or use the gasoline.
