He reflects on the Gold Coast’s prosperity and describes the remarkable relationship between one of Ghana’s major resources — cocoa — and the country’s investment in education and public development.
The clip offers a glimpse into the kinds of futures many Africans imagined during the independence era: societies where local resources could meaningfully improve the lives of ordinary people.
